Biography

Juhi Bhatt currently serves as the Associate Dean of Students, Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities and Deputy Title IX Coordinator at Fairleigh Dickinson University for both NJ campuses, located in Teaneck and Florham Park, NJ. Within this role Juhi works within the Dean of Students Office where she oversees the campus wide implementation of the student conduct process, which includes all incidents which occur within the residence halls. Juhi also assists with the implementation of the Title IX Policy and Process for all students on both NJ campuses. She also serves as a member of the College’s Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and Care Team, overseeing the support for students in distress.  As Associate Dean of Students Juhi has the pleasure of serving as part of the Provost’s Leadership Council, PLC, which consists of all Academic Dean’s and Director’s with Juhi serving as the student affairs representative. The Dean of Students Office also supports students who may need to step back from their education, withdraw, and assists with referrals for students based on whatever needs may arise. As you can imagine, Juhi and her team, work diligently to support students as they complete their programs of study at FDU. 

Previous to this position Juhi most recently served as the Assistant Dean of Students for Community Standards and Student Involvement at SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology, FIT, in NYC. In this position Juhi served as the primary student conduct officer, served as a member of the institution’s CARE team, assisted in the implementation of campus wide programs including but not limited to New Student Orientation and Tiger Leader student leadership training. Juhi also served as the Chair of the Campus Anti-Violence Education Group which put together prevention education programming for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Promoting Healthy Relationships Month, Women’s History Month, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Bystander Intervention and other important issues for the FIT community throughout the year. Within this role Juhi also hired trained and supervised the College’s Health and Wellness Peer Educators, a position in its second year of implementation. She also assisted in the opening and day to day operation of the College’s Food Pantry. 

Previous to this position Juhi served as Assistant Director of Student Affairs Compliance & Title IX Investigator within the Office of Student Affairs & Compliance at Rutgers University-New Brunswick in NJ. In this role Juhi oversaw the successful implementation of four online education programs for 12,000+ incoming undergraduate and graduate students while serving as the primary Title IX Investigator for all reported incidents of sexual violence at the New Brunswick Campus. Juhi served on the University wide Title IX committee as well as committees specific to the New Brunswick campus such as the Campus Climate Advisory Board, the Professional Development Committee, the Assessment Committee and the End Sexual Violence Campaign committee.

Previous to this position Juhi served as the Coordinator of Student Conduct and Student Information at Bergen Community College, BCC, in New Jersey. Her responsibilities included being the conduct officer for all 17,000 students at all 3 campus locations. Juhi also served as the case manager for the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and was the primary case manager for Maxient, a web based conduct software management system. Juhi also served as the co-advisor to the Student Government Association (SGA) and managed the student information desk where she hired, trained and supervised 10+ student workers. Juhi also assisted with the planning and implementation of new student orientation and commencement at BCC. Prior to this position Iuhi served as the Coordinator of Judicial Affairs & Student Information/CTE Counselor for two years at BCC. This position was a Perkins Grant funded position. In this position, Juhi assisted students as a career/transfer/academic counselor and helped students in making sure they were on track to graduate and transfer to the four year institution.

Juhi began at BCC in the spring of 2011 as an intern for her fieldwork for her Masters in Counseling from Montclair State University. After graduating from The College of New Jersey in May of 2009 with a Bachelors in Music Education, Juhi went right back to pursue her Masters in Counseling. Her internship at BCC transitioned to a part time position within the Center for Student Success and the Office of Student Life & Judicial Affairs. In December of 2012 Juhi was hired full time at BCC as the Coordinator of Judicial Affairs & Student Information/CTE Counselor via the Perkins Grant. Fortunately, in December 2014 the institution transitioned Juhi into a budgeted position as the Coordinator of Student Conduct & Student Information. Previous to her work in higher education Juhi taught K-6 general music for two years in northern New Jersey. As a classically trained vocalist Juhi still tries to sing and play guitar in her spare time.

Her professional organization affiliations include NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education where she most recently served as Chief of Staff for the NASPA II Region Board. Juhi has her BM in Music Education from The College of New Jersey, her MA in Counseling with a concentration in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Montclair State University and her Ed.D in Higher Education Administration from Saint Peter’s University.

Juhi is also a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and can lead 1 on 1 or group coaching sessions.
